• Birth Control

Birth Control is a Sci-Fi Comedy described by director Edgar Nevarez this way: "In a world where a government-run agency sends agents back in time to stop crimes, Daniel, a lovable jerk, messes up one too many times and gets demoted from making arrests to preventing births, or Birth Control. Now Daniel and his new partner Sam, a recent graduate and the top of her class, must stop a birth while learning to work with each other."

Edgar reached out to me for the role of Greg Harrison, another role in the boss' seat. Harrison's scenes were humorous right on the page and I decided to employ a little bit of Chicago in the accent, a la, Dennis Farina. I do a good chunk of screaming in this. The film was shot out in Kearny, New Jersey which has a long history of shipbuilding. The set was constructed inside a mammoth hangar. It was on the steamy side of summer but we managed to stay dry in our microchip-laden getups. Most of my work was opposite two very funny young actors with impeccable timing, Jean-Luc McMurtry and Gwynn Ballard who played Daniel and Sam.

Birth Control was written and directed by Edgar Nevarez and shot in Kearny, New Jersey by Ben Goelz on a Sony F55 CineAlta 4K Camera. Running Time: 18 minutes.
